Buying a license to McKinley is a one-off payment, which gives you a persistent license to use the current major version of McKinley (currently version 1) and receive all 1.x updates for free.
A license can be used on up to five computers that you own.
When a new major version of McKinley is released (such as 2.0), holders of a license to 1.x will have the option to upgrade for a reduced price. (Even if you don’t upgrade, your 1.x license will keep functioning.)
Licenses are purchased through our website or directly inside the app. Both methods of purchasing are the same; you will receive a license key that will activate McKinley.
Activating McKinley on a new computer requires an internet connection. McKinley will check in with the licensing server once every 30 days in order to confirm that a license is valid.
Our licensing is powered by Amore. You can retrieve your license key, or manage which Macs are activated, by accessing the Amore portal.
McKinley has a 14 day fully functional demo. This is the same app download you’ll use for a purchased version of McKinley: it operates in demo mode until you purchase or enter a key.
After 14 days, the demo is still usable for testing, but becomes save- and export-disabled.
Purchasing
To purchase online, visit this link. After purchase you will receive a license code (on screen and it will also be emailed to you).
You can also purchase McKinley directly in the app. When in demo mode, McKinley shows a dialog box at startup with options to purchase or enter a code. Alternatively, you can go to Settings -> Licensing in order to start the purchase flow.
If you purchase McKinley from inside the app, you don’t have to manually enter the license code. However you should keep a copy of your code, in case you need to re-activate McKinley, or to activate it on another machine.

We offer a student discount of 50%. If you are a student, send your proof of student status (e.g. a photo of your student ID card) in to support@doubleandthrice.com.
